She demonstrated a solid understanding of algebraic manipulation and was able to isolate variables confidently when solving equations. When working through distance–speed–time problems, she showed good logical reasoning and was able to identify which formula to apply. Once the correct formula was established, she generally substituted values accurately and followed the correct steps. She also showed persistence when working through multi-step word problems and was willing to attempt challenging questions independently before seeking clarification.

The main area that required additional support was unit conversion. She was initially unsure how to convert between units such as: Hours to minutes Kilometres to metres Minutes to hours This affected her accuracy in some distance–speed–time problems, as consistent units are essential when applying the formula correctly. We discussed the importance of checking that all units match before substituting values into formulas. With more practice in unit conversions and developing confidence with conversion factors, this area should improve significantly.

Nisini picked up rationalizing denominators quite quickly, which was great to see. She also demonstrated strong understanding in equations, algebra, and inequalities, showing confidence in applying the concepts.

While she understands the process of rationalizing denominators, she would benefit from more practice to improve consistency and avoid forgetting steps. In algebra and inequalities, she generally performs well but occasionally makes simple mistakes, so continued practice and careful checking of her work will help strengthen her accuracy.

She showed strong understanding when adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions. She was also confident with expanding brackets. For surds, she performed very well in both adding/subtracting and simplifying them, showing clear understanding of the concepts. Once explained, she picked up scientific notation quickly.

She needed some guidance when converting fractions into decimals and percentages, as well as with significant figures initially. With continued practice, especially in these areas, her accuracy and confidence will improve further.
