What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The little smiles and the surprised "oh" from understanding new concepts, cherishing the joy in mutual growth and getting to relive the academic concepts from a fresh perspective. Young minds mean differing views and curious questions - constantly improving myself and offering an opportunity to appreciate the diversity in people.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Ease in drawing examples of academic concepts from real life is one strength which I regularly utilise to improve the student's grasp over the concept. Apart from this, listening carefully and being patient with my student's academic progress are few skills I've perfected over the years. My unending curiosity to research upon student questions while encouraging them to widen their knowledge base has often led to appreciation from my peers.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing is to develop personalized learning strategies according to the individual needs of the student. This should be complemented by constant efforts to induce a two-way channel towards Education, augmenting traditional educational roles. Rather than mere transfer of academic knowledge, the tutor should encourage the student to imbibe the concepts and applications through their own unique life experiences. Finally, a good tutor is a good speaker, but an excellent tutor is someone who thrives in the art of listening!
