What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy helping young people grow and sharing my passions in a way that supports their learning and confidence. With my experience as a youth leader, I learned how rewarding it is to guide and encourage young people.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths as a tutor are being approachable and friendly. From my time as a youth leader in Scouts, I learned how important it is to make young people feel comfortable and supported, which I bring into the way I help others learn. I also have excellent communication, which allows me to effectively explain key concepts to others.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important things a tutor can do are to be patient, explain things clearly, and build a student’s confidence. It’s not just about teaching the content, but also encouraging them and making learning feel achievable

About Georgia
Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Student
I am currently studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), where I am developing strong problem-solving, analytical, and practical skills. My coursework has strengthened my ability to break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps, which I bring into my tutoring approach. I enjoy applying real-world examples to learning, helping students understand not only the “how” but also the “why” behind what they are studying.
Volunteering as a Group Leader
For several years, I volunteered as a Scout Leader, guiding young people through activities that built teamwork, creativity, and resilience. This role developed my communication and leadership skills, as I often explained new concepts in an engaging and accessible way to younger learners. I take pride in creating a supportive and encouraging environment—skills that directly carry over into my tutoring, where I aim to build both confidence and capability in students.

Bay showed strong progress with word equations and demonstrated a good understanding of converting decimals to proper fractions. The review of homework and schoolwork allowed for reinforcement of key concepts, and Bay engaged well in applying skills to problem-solving contexts.
Bay is improving with multiplying and dividing decimals but would benefit from additional practice to build accuracy and confidence. Further work on simplifying fractions is also recommended to strengthen foundational number skills and reduce errors in more complex problems.

Bay engaged well with the material, demonstrating a solid understanding of mixed fractions, decimals, and indices. The review of homework and schoolwork allowed for clarification of misunderstandings, and addressing Bay’s identified difficulties helped reinforce key concepts.
Bay would benefit from extra practice multiplying decimals and focusing on identifying and understanding key points in questions. Continued emphasis on showing all working steps clearly on paper, as well as practising long division, will help improve accuracy, confidence, and fluency with more complex problems.

He showed a strong grasp of trigonometric concepts and is developing confidence in applying them. His understanding of scientific notation is solid, with only minor improvements needed in carefully reading through questions. He is also building a good foundation in index laws, showing progress in applying the rules correctly.
He would benefit from continued practice in problem-solving skills, particularly writing down his working clearly on paper. Tackling more challenging index law questions will help strengthen his understanding. Additionally, practising complex, worded equations will improve his ability to translate problems into mathematical steps.
