What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is being around children and vibing with their innocence, humour and even the funny slang they use. It makes every session feel lively and memorable. At the same time, I love seeing the moment when a student finally understands a difficult concept after I’ve explained it in a way that clicks for them. That “lightbulb†moment is so rewarding. I also enjoy when students come back to me excited to share their school results, sometimes scoring 90% or higher and I can celebrate their hard work with them, even with something small like a chocolate treat.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I would say my biggest strengths as a tutor are:
- I have a range of small strategies and tricks to help students remember formulas and key concepts more easily.
- I like to use creative methods such as memes or real-life examples to teach and make lessons more engaging and relatable.
- I connect well with students in one-on-one settings, which helps me modify my approach to each student’s learning style and pace.
- I’m patient and encouraging, which helps students feel comfortable asking questions without hesitation at any time of the day.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe one of the most important things a tutor can do is build a balance of trust and authority with their student. Students should feel confident that they can come to me with any doubts without fear of being judged. At the same time, I set clear boundaries so that during class time, we stay focused on learning without distractions from devices or other things.
It's equally important to help students develop study habits and problem-solving skills that they can carry beyond tutoring sessions.
