Due to having worked at specsavers and interacting with patients, I have worked on my ability to build rapport as well as work with anxious and uncertain patients to inform them as best I can of the process they will undertake to alleviate these worries. I have tried to bring this understanding of concerns, acknowledgement of doubts and uncertainties, as well as continued assessment of understanding to my tutoring experiences and have found it to be very beneficial. I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to be accessible to the students, both in the classroom in terms of encouraging questions, and avoiding judgement, as well as after class, especially if there is homework, as going through it without support can be isolating at times, and being able to do this while still pushing students to progressively approach problems independently, which can further develop their confidence.Tutoring students in 👦 👧
