What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Being able to teach kids to be able to solve problems and allow them to realise the joy of learning from both their growth through experiences as well as through their mistakes.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

Having prior informal experience tutoring a young year 7 kid for a maths mates afterschool program which allowed me to develop skills in managing and teaching someone effectively, as well as my strong work ethic with all my extracurricular activities from my senior years that helped me adapt to organising my time well between studying and doing other responsibilities.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Teaching a student what others are unable to learn is a privilege and the most important thing for a tutor, to teach and foster that student’s growth in both grades and work ethic is a key element of being a successful tutor.

About Olivia

Strong maths and English results with real school-based experience

Olivia is a high-achieving Year 12 student with top-range results in Maths Extension 1 and English Advanced, and experience in Maths Extension 2. She already tutors younger students through her school’s after-school maths program, helping them with homework, exam preparation and step-by-step problem solving. This tutor understands the current curriculum and assessment style, and explains concepts clearly, breaking tricky questions into manageable parts so students can build confidence as well as marks.

Patient peer tutor who connects well with younger students

Through her weekly “Maths Mates” peer tutoring, Olivia has learned how to adjust her explanations for different ages and abilities, using worked examples, diagrams and practice questions she creates herself. She brings the same calm, friendly approach she uses in group activities and committee work, encouraging students to ask questions and think out loud. Parents can expect a tutor who listens carefully, checks understanding regularly and celebrates small wins to keep motivation high.

Creative, organised sessions with a focus on skills and study habits

With experience designing yearbook pages and helping plan major school events, Olivia brings strong planning and organisation to her tutoring. She uses her interest in graphic design and technology to create visually clear notes, revision sheets and digital practice quizzes. Sessions focus not only on getting the right answers, but also on exam techniques, time management and setting up simple study routines at home, helping students become more independent and confident learners in maths and English.
