What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

What I enjoy most about tutoring, is when a student feels genuinely confident in a topic or subject they were initially struggling in. I love being able to break down large complicated concepts into simpler steps and helping student obtain the marks they deserve. During my final year of high school, I would tutor my fellow students in business studies and watched them go from low Ds to high Bs, and those little accomplishments made me feel more confident. I also did debating coaching in year 10 and 11 which taught me vital skills which encouraged their academic growth.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I was able to balance out my own academic life in year 12 while helping multiple peers gain their desired mark. My debating background allows me to communicate my ideas logically and helps me break down large concepts into simple processes. Due to my informal tutoring experience, I understand students struggle with large content which helps me explain theory without them feeling judged, and this also helps me relate to students and makes it easier to explain things to them.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Building confidence. Through most of my informal tutoring, I have realised that students only perform well when they are confident in what they have been taught and are learning. Which is why the most important thing a tutor can do for their student is to help build their confidence and support them during their highs and lows without bringing them down.

About Yashvi

Strong Maths Background with Proven Achievement

Yashvi is a high-achieving secondary school student with a strong focus on Mathematics, currently studying advanced high school maths and consistently performing in the top range of her cohort. She has been recognised in a Maths Olympiad, placing in the top 25% across a large regional competition, and has also received an Excellence Award for mathematics. This tutor brings up-to-date curriculum knowledge and understands exactly what primary and high school students are expected to know in class and in exams.

Real Experience Marking Student Work

Alongside her studies, Yashvi works as a marker for a tutoring organisation, regularly correcting and giving feedback on students’ maths work. This experience has trained her to quickly spot common mistakes, misunderstandings, and gaps in knowledge, which she then explains in clear, simple steps. She is used to following structured marking guides, so parents can be confident that her tutoring aligns with school-style expectations and helps students build exam-ready skills.

Relatable Role Model for Young Learners

As a current high school student herself, Yashvi connects easily with younger learners and understands the pressures of tests, homework and time management. She uses her own Olympiad strategies—such as breaking complex questions into smaller parts and checking answers systematically—to show students how to think through problems independently. This tutor aims to build confidence as well as marks, creating a calm, encouraging space where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes.
