What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy helping students with areas I personally struggled with while I was studying, as I am finally able to apply my knowledge in areas that I have previously studied in a real-world scenario.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

My strengths include teaching perseverance and guiding students toward achieving deep understanding of topics. With my very recent experience in school, I can relate to the students and find effective methods of conveying information and improving retention of said information.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

Change a student's perspective on how to solve a problem rather than outright telling them what to do, challenging their thinking in the process. I will encourage students to constantly explain concepts that they are learnt or have recently learnt, which will further solidify their foundational knowledge.

About Kevin

Engineering

I am planning to attend Monash University to study a Bachelor of Engineering in 2026. I have also built an automated shuttlecock launcher as a part of my Year 12 Systems Engineering course, which was shortlisted for VCAA's 2026 Top Designs.

Clear communicator with teamwork experience

This tutor is an excellent communicator who has worked in several team-based projects, including a school business marketing project and running a drink stall, where he quickly learnt customer service skills. These experiences help him explain concepts patiently and adapt his style to each student’s needs. Kevin is used to collaborating with peers and teachers, so he is comfortable guiding students through tricky topics, checking understanding as he goes, and encouraging them to ask questions without feeling embarrassed.

Motivated role model with diverse interests

Kevin is an avid learner planning to pursue engineering, giving him a clear sense of where strong maths and English skills can lead. He has participated in an enhanced and accelerated academic program and was shortlisted for a top Systems Engineering design project, showing consistent commitment and discipline. Outside academics, he has completed graded piano studies and speaks fluent Mandarin, which helps him connect with students who have varied interests or bilingual backgrounds, making lessons more relatable and enjoyable.
