Smiti is a high-performing graduate with an ATAR above 95 and strong results in Advanced Maths, Advanced English and Physics. This tutor is confident supporting students in Maths up to Year 10 and English through to Year 12, combining solid subject knowledge with clear, structured explanations. Having received multiple academic and science awards, she understands what it takes to excel and brings that insight into every session, helping students move from “getting by” to genuinely understanding their work.
Through her role marking K–6 workbooks in Maths, English and comprehension, Smiti has seen first-hand the most common mistakes students make and how to fix them. She regularly provided step-by-step corrections and targeted written feedback, pinpointing strengths and learning gaps for each child. This experience means she doesn’t just “go over” homework; she actively diagnoses where a student is stuck and gives them practical strategies to improve accuracy, confidence and independent learning.
As a Peer Support Leader and school prefect, Smiti guided younger students through their transition to high school, using clear, empathetic communication to build trust and engagement. She helped organise major whole-school events, including planning and teaching cultural dance sessions, which sharpened her ability to run structured, enjoyable lessons for diverse groups. Parents can expect a tutor who is organised, approachable and genuinely invested in each student’s wellbeing as well as their academic progress.

Time management again. It is not that he struggles with learning the content or applying it, but rather that he doesn't organise his time well enough to be able to learn, hence the tutoring lessons which help him stay on track.

We were able to write just over half of the story together. Jack was able to even come up with ideas for sentences and integrating Shakesperean techniques himself, with minimal prompt from me at times. Once we got into the rhythm, he was able to come up with phrases he was very proud of, which followed story-writing conventions.
Needs a little more practice with creative writing, but that comes with time. He was struggling to figure out how to start the task, and did leave it to pretty last minute. Some work on time management would be great for him! It is not that he is struggling with the content, but rather needs to hold himself accountable and study earlier + consistently.

Jack is very good at algebra. He is getting better at complex questions with multiple variables. For English, he has developed a storyline he would like to follow, which has excellent links to the overarching story of Romeo and Juliet. He has a clear understanding of the themes within the text and what is expected from him when writing an appropriation - application is the next thing to work on.
In terms of algebra, Jack does not read the question properly. He is making the same mistakes every time, and he knows what the mistake is when I ask him! Practice is the main thing here. For English, he is struggling to put his words and ideas onto paper in a way that synthesises multiple ideas - this is completely normal, but definitely something to point out and work on (replicating language techniques and synthesising ideas). Besides the content, I am concerned about how he manages his assessments. Jack had received the math notification weeks prior, and he didn't realise the exam was on the 23rd. This lesson should have been spent on math, but it was only at the end that he checked when the math test was. Additionally, he needs to write a proper summary sheet, as this will help him answer the A and B range questions. I believe Jack didn't achieve the mark he wanted on the financial math test due to lack of preparation, not lack of knowledge, as evident by his summary sheet.

Jack is getting the hang of index laws and how to apply them in unseen scenarios. Additionally, he is able to identify techniques really well and what it means for the story over all. He is engaged in trying to learn different ways to mimic Shakespeare's style in his future appropriation
Still needs to work on identifying context and analysing on a deeper level, however this isn't too necessary for an appropriation so we will resume honing in on that skill after the appropriation assessment. He should try to read the question a bit more carefully in terms of math. I have also noticed that he isn't very motivated to start the english assessment until he gets the notification, so I have set it as homework to give him a little push
