What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I believe the most rewarding factor of tutoring is fostering a love of learning and knowledge. I enjoy helping students who dislike a subject come to look forward to discovering more about it. Moreover, I value encouraging students to push themselves further.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

My strengths as a tutor are my empathy, patience, and encouragement. I understand that learning can be difficult, thus, I am committed to finding the most effective approach that improves each individuals understanding and confidence.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

I consider the most important role of a tutor is to grow students confidence in subjects via encouragement. In order to strengthen students knowledge and abilities, a tutor should ensure that the student believes they can improve their understanding of a subject and trusts that their extra effort does pay off. Hence, by creating an environment where the student is comfortable to ask questions and make mistakes as part of the learning process, they can grow their self-belief and willingness to not give up.

Testimonials πŸ†

The tutoring with Bridie is going well. She is always on time, pleasant and flexible and keeps our daughter engaged for the whole session. She has provided extra material (tests, exercises) as requested or offered. We are trying to follow the curriculum as is being taught to our daughter as school.

About Bridie

Strong Academic Foundation in Maths, Science and English

Bridie brings a high-achieving academic background, with an ATAR in the mid90s and consistently strong results across mathematics, science and English. She excelled in advanced subjects such as biology, chemistry, physics and mathematical methods, and received multiple academic excellence awards throughout secondary school. As dux of her biology cohort, she is well placed to help students build clear, stepbystep understanding, especially in problem-solving and exam-style questions for both primary and high school levels.

Clear Communicator Who Enjoys Explaining Concepts

This tutor genuinely enjoys breaking tricky ideas into simple, logical steps. Bridie has developed strong communication skills, including online, and is comfortable explaining the same concept in different ways until it β€œclicks”. She draws on her own study strategies from senior school, such as creating structured summaries and practice questions, and teaches students how to show working clearly in maths and science. Her patient and empathetic approach helps students feel safe asking questions and building confidence.

Future Science Student with a Focus on Study Skills

About to begin a Bachelor of Science, Bridie is very familiar with the current school curriculum and the demands of assessments and exams. She helps students with more than just content, guiding them in planning homework, managing time and approaching tests calmly. She likes to use real-world examples from science and everyday problem-solving to make lessons engaging and relevant, helping students see the purpose behind what they are learning and develop independent study habits.
