What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I really enjoy teaching students and others. I feel it's really important to nurture one's love for learning as this directly links to their performance academically as well. I enjoy it because teaching others also grows and expands my love for the topic itself and allows me to master those fields as well.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe I have attention to detail and can spot where something might've gone wrong and help correct the mistake for the student. I also believe I have the patience to sit with a student and stay with them, try different ways of teaching the topic until they understand it properly - having the patience to not get frustrated at the student and let them take their time to understand.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing I could do for a student is not give up on them. I need to pay close attention to how they feel about particular concepts and make sure I don't give up on their understanding. Different students understand concepts at their own paces which is something I need to look out for. In a class with multiple students, it is important I find the perfect balance of my teaching pace so that I'm not going too fast for those who take a little longer to understand, and I'm not going too slow for those who understand quickly which would just be stunting their potential growth.

About Dhruv
High-achieving maths specialist with strong academic results
Dhruv is a high-performing maths student, currently studying Actuarial Studies at university with a GPA above 6.5. He excelled in senior Maths Advanced and has been recognised with distinctions in several national maths and science competitions, including the Australian Mathematics Competition, ICAS Science and Maths, and a computational thinking challenge. This strong academic foundation means he can explain tricky concepts clearly, help students build problem-solving skills, and guide them towards high-level results in both primary and high school maths.
Hands-on mentoring experience with younger students
This tutor already has real experience supporting younger learners, having mentored primary students in their mathematical research projects. He has also helped at school events such as a preparatory swimming carnival, showing patience, responsibility and the ability to connect with children in different settings. Dhruv draws on these experiences to break tasks into manageable steps, encourage questions, and create a calm, friendly environment where students feel comfortable having another go when they get stuck.
Detail-focused, bilingual communicator who makes learning practical
Dhruv brings strong communication and problem-solving skills, sharpened through both his studies and everyday responsibilities. Comfortable working independently or as part of a team, he is used to managing details carefully and staying organised. As a bilingual speaker of English and Telugu, he is sensitive to different language backgrounds and can adapt his explanations to suit each student. He enjoys linking maths to real-life examples, helping students see why concepts matter rather than just memorising formulas.
