My favourite part of tutoring is being a supporting role to help a student succeed. It makes me content being someone a student can depend on for help.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths as a tutor is being patient and finding alternate ways to explain things if necessary. If someone is finding trouble understanding a concept, they may just need to receive the information in a different way.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
An important thing is to help with identifying their weakness. Usually, the thing holding them back is a habit they don’t realise they have. If they can have someone point it out, they could start seeing improvements in results and their confidence. It is also important to put them on the right path by suggesting steps they can take to fix habits.

I completed three maths subjects in VCE: Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics and UMEP Mathematics.

Student had some trouble understanding the unit circle - however, it wasn't explained properly by the tutor. It may not be assessed. It may be a year 10 advanced topic.

Student needs to work on pattern recognition by doing more mental maths. With more practice he could quickly recognise patterns like how 48 = 16 x 3 and that 48:16 can be easily simplified to 3:1.

Be careful when solving equations - Sometimes the student adds a term to one side of the equation when it should be subtracted. Look at the term and do the operation needed to remove it to both sides. e.g. 2x - 14 = 0. To move the 14, add 14 to both sides. 2x - 14 (+14) = 0 (+14).
