What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love that lightbulb moment when something that once felt impossible suddenly makes sense to a student. Having spent so much of my life immersed in the logic of math, I’ve learned that most “math anxiety” comes from just a few missing pieces. Finding those gaps and helping students connect them is incredibly rewarding.
Beyond grades, what I enjoy most is the human connection. Whether I’m simplifying calculus or making primary numeracy fun, watching a student’s confidence grow as they realize they can handle difficult problems is the best part of the job.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My biggest strength is my ability to turn complex ideas into simple, clear explanations. With a 100% academic record in math, I don’t just memorize formulas; I truly understand the why behind them. This allows me to break down challenging topics like Calculus into logical, easy-to-follow steps that actually make sense to students.
I’m also highly adaptable. I can move comfortably from helping a primary school student understand basic fractions to guiding a university student through advanced engineering math. My background in Cyber Security has also made me patient, detail-oriented, and methodical in the way I teach.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is build a student’s confidence. Most of the time, a student isn’t actually “bad at math” they’ve just had a few negative experiences that made them feel stuck. I try to create a safe and supportive space where mistakes are okay, because that’s how frustration slowly turns into curiosity and learning.
Beyond that, my goal is to teach independence. I don’t want to be someone who just helps students finish their homework; I want them to understand the why behind the numbers. When a student moves away from memorizing steps and starts thinking logically, that’s when real learning happens — and that’s when they begin to believe in themselves.

About Sarmad
When I’m Not Teaching
Outside of academics, I’m a curious and creative person. I enjoy playing pool because it helps me think strategically and stay focused, and I love reading books to learn new perspectives. Photography is another passion of mine it encourages me to slow down, notice small details, and see things differently. Spending time in nature helps me recharge and stay balanced, and that calm, positive energy is something I naturally bring into my interactions with students.
