About Miranda

Strong Academic Background and Bilingual Communication

Miranda is studying a Bachelor of Science with a major in Veterinary Bioscience, giving her a strong grounding in Maths and English-heavy scientific subjects. At school she completed the IB Diploma and received an award for all-round academic achievement, as well as a specific award recognising her high-level Chinese. As a fluent speaker of both English and Mandarin, she can explain tricky concepts in clear, accessible language and, where helpful, support Mandarin-speaking families and students with additional clarification.

Patient, Responsible and Great with Young People

This tutor holds a Working with Children Check and has extensive experience communicating with a wide range of people through customer-facing roles and community volunteering. Mirandaโ€™s work with assistance dogs required calm, consistent communication, careful observation and positive reinforcement โ€“ all skills she now applies to tutoring. She is used to guiding others step by step, noticing when someone is confused, and adjusting her explanations so students feel safe to ask questions and build confidence over time.

Organised, Creative and Engaging Learning Style

Miranda brings strong organisation and creativity to her sessions, shaped by her experience managing social media for a university sports club, where she designs clear, engaging posts to explain information. In tutoring, she uses the same approach: breaking tasks into manageable steps, using visual aids and real-life examples to make Maths and English more relatable. Her background in the Duke of Edinburghโ€™s Award program shows commitment and perseverance, which she encourages in her students through goal-setting, regular feedback, and celebrating small wins.
