What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing a student go from confusion to clarity. I find it very rewarding to break down concepts in a way that finally “clicks†for someone and to watch their confidence grow over time. I also enjoy building rapport with students and helping them realise that learning doesn’t have to be intimidating — with the right guidance, it can actually be engaging and empowering. I also enjoy the fact that I get to polish myself on topics and get a deeper understanding by not only using my knowledge, but also the students' knowledge as well.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
One of my biggest strengths as a tutor is my ability to explain complex ideas in a clear and simple way. As an IB student, I am used to approaching topics from multiple angles and adapting explanations to suit different learning styles. I am patient, organised, and supportive, and I focus not just on content but also on study techniques, exam strategies, and building long-term understanding rather than short-term memorisation.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is help a student build confidence in their own abilities. A tutor should provide clear explanations, encouragement, and structure, while also teaching students how to think independently and approach problems with confidence. Creating a safe, supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions is just as important as improving academic results.

About Shaury
Academic Background and Passion for Learning
Hi, I’m Shaury, a student at Monash University studying Commerce and Economics with a strong interest in mathematics and problem-solving. I achieved a 7 out of 7 in IB Mathematics Analysis and Approaches and received the subject award for mathematics. I’ve always enjoyed maths because of the logical thinking and creativity involved in solving problems. Outside of academics, I enjoy staying active, exploring new ideas, and continuously learning new skills. As a tutor, my goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to help them develop confidence and a genuine understanding of the subject.
Supportive and Clear Teaching Style
I believe that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching approach to suit each student’s needs. When a student finds a topic difficult, I focus on identifying the exact point where their understanding becomes unclear and then break the concept down into smaller, structured steps so it becomes easier to follow. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and gradually building confidence in their abilities.
Tutoring Experience
I have tutoring experience from my time at Indus International School Pune, where I worked part-time supporting students in IB Mathematics, Economics, and English. I helped students who were struggling by explaining concepts clearly and making lessons engaging. I also regularly tutor friends and peers, helping them prepare for exams and understand challenging topics. In addition, I volunteered teaching English in a marginalised village community, which strengthened my patience and adaptability when working with students from different backgrounds.

The student still needs to work on small, silly mistakes that could cost him the correct answer. More practice on the GDC is needed to increase the speed at which he solves the questions
The student was able to finish the rest of the questions after I had only explained one or two of the questions.
