Verified Tutor
Lauren brings hands-on maths teaching experience from working as a graduate tutor with secondary students, focusing on helping learners aged 12β16 build confidence and improve their exam results. She is used to planning and delivering lessons tailored to individual needs, especially for students who find maths challenging or come from under-resourced backgrounds. This tutor understands how to break concepts into clear, manageable steps and uses lots of practice and encouragement so students feel capable rather than overwhelmed.
Currently working in an educational support role at a primary school, Lauren supports students with extra learning and wellbeing needs across Maths and English. She is trained in Multilit programs (MacqLit and MiniLit), giving her practical tools for improving reading, spelling and foundational literacy. Lauren is also safeguarding and first-aid trained, and has a Working with Children check. She is skilled at building trust, noticing when a child is struggling, and adapting on the spot so each session fits how that student is feeling that day.
With a degree in Youth Work and Community Development that includes teaching and learning training, Lauren understands how young people think, what motivates them, and how to keep them engaged. She has led youth sessions overseas, planning activities around studentsβ goals and dreams, and challenging the barriers they face. Alongside this, over a decade of performing arts training means she brings energy, creativity and confidence-building strategies into her tutoring, helping shy or anxious learners find their voice and enjoy their progress.
