What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

The moment a concept clicks. There's a visible change in a student when something that felt impossible five minutes ago suddenly makes sense their confidence shifts, and they start attempting problems they would have skipped before. Having sat my final exams recently and scored an ATAR equivalence of 99.5, I still remember exactly which topics felt overwhelming and what finally made them click for me. Getting to recreate that moment for someone else, and watching a student go from "I can't do maths" to genuinely enjoying the challenge, is easily the most rewarding part of tutoring for me.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

Three things. First, subject mastery that's recent and battle-tested I earned UWA's Global Excellence Scholarship, awarded only to students with an ATAR of 98.5+, so I know precisely what top marks in Maths and Science require right now, not a decade ago. Second, the ability to break complex ideas into simple, step-by-step methods as a peer tutor I've helped classmates untangle Maths, Physics and Chemistry problems by finding the exact point where their understanding broke down and rebuilding from there.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Build confidence and independence, not dependence. A good tutor doesn't just hand over answers they teach the student how to think through a problem, so that in the exam room, alone, the student can do it themselves. That means diagnosing the real gap (it's often two topics earlier than where the student thinks they're stuck), explaining it in language that actually lands, and then making the student do the work while you guide. Just as important is making it safe to be wrong students learn fastest when they're not afraid of mistakes.
