However, sooner or later most students tend to struggle with chemistry. And once they hit that wall it's important to react right away, before the tasks pile up and become unmanageable.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
In the past few weeks, I have seen as well as the mother, the improvement in Jakes studies, he is now more confident to try and make mistakes and then learn rather than just skip the questions he doesn't understand.
While Charlotte is not at all dismissive about maths and she is certainly interactive and proactive in the tutorials, the commitment to homework is still lacking. It's probably worth pointing out that not doing the homework doesnt matter from some perspectives, but it would certainly help to consolidation the concepts much more effectively, and give us room to cover the material in more depth. In any case, Charlotte continues to be receptive and engaged in the tutorials...just not to the homework.
Problem areas are those questions in which she is not sure of (while on her own) and cannot find an answer immediately in the textbook or online. Also she must remember to write the equation before use and check over work for mistakes.
My daughter and I are both very happy with Thibault. She has only had one session with him but said he was good at explaining and he was able to answer her questions. He was also encouraging, punctual and very polite. We are very happy to continue with him.
Gagan is a wonderful tutor and I would be very happy with her coming back next year.
Both Natalia and Kiara are very happy with Abigail and things are starting off really great.
