What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most is that feeling when a concept clicks for a student, and it pays off in their results. It makes me happy to see a parent notice their kid improving.
But what I love most is creating a safe environment for students, whether one-on-one or in a small classroom, where they don't feel intimidated. I like working with shy students who hold back from asking questions because they think it'll sound stupid. When they feel safe, there's no such thing as a stupid question, and I like helping them build the confidence to speak up, ask questions, and learn, rather than fall behind.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think my biggest strength as a tutor is being able to really listen to what a student is struggling with, not just the topic, but where exactly they're getting stuck, and then working through it step by step at their own pace without rushing them or making them feel pressured. I also find it easy to communicate with students in a way that feels natural, so they feel secure and open, almost like they're talking to a friend rather than being taught. On top of that, I'm a keen learner myself, so I'm quick to pick up new methods and adapt them to whatever suits the student best.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing a tutor can do is make the student feel safe, so they're comfortable opening up and can actually enjoy learning instead of dreading it. Once that trust is there, communication comes easily, concepts become easier to understand, and the student naturally becomes more willing to learn rather than feeling like it's being forced on them.
