What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I genuinely enjoy taking complex concepts and breaking them down into accessible pieces. Having navigated challenging, technical subjects firsthand through my physics coursework and current aviation management studies, I know how frustrating it can feel to hit a wall. The most rewarding part of tutoring is facilitating that 'lightbulb' moment—when a student finally grasps a concept they've been struggling with and you can see their frustration turn into genuine confidence.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My biggest strengths are my adaptability, patience, and clear communication. Working in fast-paced customer service environments as a barista has taught me how to read situations quickly and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people. Academically, my background in physics and university-level mathematics gives me a highly analytical mindset. This allows me to approach a single problem from multiple angles, which is incredibly useful when I need to pivot my teaching style for a student who isn't grasping a concept the conventional way.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do is build a student’s self-reliance. While helping them understand a topic or pass an exam is the immediate goal, a great tutor goes further by equipping the student with resilient problem-solving frameworks. By creating a supportive, patient environment where students aren't afraid to make mistakes, a tutor teaches them how to learn and critically think for themselves, which sets them up for long-term academic success.
