What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
While I am new to tutoring, I enjoy helping others understand concepts that they may initially find challenging. Through my experience coaching netball, I have found that I particularly enjoy seeing young people develop their skills and confidence as they learn. I would enjoy bringing this same approach to tutoring by making learning feel approachable, encouraging students when they are struggling, and helping them recognise their own progress.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I would bring a strong combination of academic knowledge, patience, adaptability, and interpersonal skills to tutoring. As a tertiary student studying Aerospace Engineering and Astrophysics, I have a strong understanding of mathematics and science and can communicate concepts clearly.
My experience coaching young people has developed my ability to be patient, empathetic, and encouraging while building positive connections. I am also a creative thinker, who can explain concepts in different ways, adapting my approach to suit each student and help them achieve understanding.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I believe the most important things a tutor can do are be patient, adaptable, and approachable. A tutor should take the time to understand a studentβs current level of knowledge before introducing new concepts, and adapt their teaching style to suit how the student learns best. I also believe it is important to encourage questions and create an environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, as this allows them to learn without fear of judgement and build confidence in their abilities.
