What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
It is very fulfilling to be able to teach and see a student finally understand a concept they have been struggling with. I love watching the moment that it has clicked in their head and it reminds me why I love teaching. It is also so rewarding to build relationships with students and watch them grow independently.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I'm patient and good at breaking difficult concepts into small, manageable steps. I try to explain the same idea in different ways, such as with a diagram, a real-life example, or a simpler problem, until I find the approach that works for that student. I try to be motivating and encouraging, because many students come in believing they're 'bad' at a subject and building their confidence is just as important as building their skills.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing a tutor can do is to build a concrete understanding of concepts for a student, rather than just getting homework done. Memorizing concepts has never worked as much as finding the root of the confusion, like a gap in a topic, and fixing it. I truly value making students feel safe to ask any doubts they have and allow them to make mistakes while learning from them.
