What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐
What I enjoy most about tutoring is talking through difficult concepts with my students in a way that they are able to understand and logically follow. Specifically for English, I enjoy seeing students grow to appreciate literary techniques within texts and understand how these techniques enhance the message that the author is trying to convey. I enjoy finding an easy way of explaining challenging topics, as it is so rewarding to see students understand content and enable them to feel accomplished in their learning.My Strengths as Tutor ๐ช
As a tutor I am patient, and encourage questions. I believe in creating a comfortable environment for my students where they feel excited about learning rather than an environment of where they are disengaged. I am able to recognise my student's needs and identify their areas of weakness, I am then able to focus my efforts on those areas so that they feel secure in these areas. As mentioned, I am very clear in my explanations and my students are left with a renewed sense of knowledge and confidence.Most important things I can do for a student ๐
The most important thing a tutor can do for their student is ensure that the student has gained the ability to consolidate the information taught. The student must be able to reproduce the content learned in their own words at their own time. Specifically for English, many students have wonderful, original ideas in their minds, however, they struggle to put this in writing. It is crucial for an English tutor to enable their students to write in a way that their voices can be heard through their writing.
