What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Ultimately, I enjoy relaying the studying skills and techniques I have learned throughout my schooling onto the students I tutor who may be struggling to make progress. Their improvement and progress in their own studies to become a better academic motivates me to teach them to the best of my ability.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Since I was a relatively average student at the beginning of high school, I spent my years improving and developing my study skills. As such, I have gone through the process of bettering myself as an academic that many of these students hope to go through.
Moreover, I believe my experience with informal tutoring has taught me significant communication and coaching skills where I can slow down or speed up my teaching based on the students needs to better their understanding.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most significant thing a tutor can do is shape their teaching based on the students weaknesses to enhance their learning to the fullest. I also believe teaching the students to be independent in their students is significant as you cannot be their for them 24/7, and helping them develop proper individual study skills is crucial for a tutor.

Solving algebraic linear equations was something we covered before and he went decently once reminded. Phillip could solve for the different components of linear equations like gradient and y intercept once given a hint for what to do.
Better understanding of Cartesian planes and how linear equations work overall. A bit more practice for algebra solving would help him
He seems to grasp the basic concept of perimeter and area over the session.
He seems to grasp the basic concept of perimeter and area over the session.
Phillip should work on memorising the formulas for perimeters and areas (mainly formulas for areas) of the shapes he is being taught in school. After this, practicing questions is best. He also has an assessment task due soon which may need more attention.

Although struggling at the beginning, once I helped him a few times, he seemed to get the hang of it quite quickly. It seemed that he already knew these concepts but had just forgotten them. With enough practice this will become like second nature.
He could use more practice for these basic concept so that they come more naturally to him. After he gets a hang of these concepts we can move on to harder concepts.
