What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
It is incredibly rewarding to see students grow in confidence as they undertake and then master new skills. Ways of learning and motivation can be different for each individual and I enjoy unlocking what is meaningful for them and then using that pathway to accelerate not only how they learn but how they then apply that knowledge to new problems and concepts.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am patience, positive and adaptable. As a good listener, I can easily build new relationships and tease out students' individual learning styles. I believe I have the ability to make learning fun and therefore motivational for the student. I am currently in my fourth year of a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) and Bachelor of Arts (Ancient and Modern History) degree and am building my teaching skills to support the learning process, especially where clarity and understanding is clouded or uncertain. I am highly IT literate and familiar with the online platforms that students may be using to support their studies.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important things a tutor can do for a student is to build their confidence and their skill level in the chosen subject. It is essential to work with the motivations of the student, and through this find ways deepen their interest in the subject matter. Sometimes you may be solidify existing knowledge and sometimes explore new knowledge. Ultimately you are preparing the student not only for their exam(s) ahead but also for how they may approach learning into the future.
