What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
As a near-final year student in Bachelor of Science (Applied Mathematics and Statistics) at RMIT, I am interested in passing on my skills in the field of Mathematics to aspiring young minds. I love to see that moment when the student has learned the tools to tackle and solve a problem on their own. tutoring is a constantly evolving process and it's one I enjoy taking part in.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths include:
- An ability to listen to the student and focus on what they wish to work on and learn
- Patience for students: Everyone learns at their own unique pace.
- A love for mathematics that I wish to show my students
- Very easy and understanding to talk to.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to listen and observe. Rather than provide a pre-packaged set of examples based on the subject matter, a tutor should tailor their sessions to each individual so that learning can be maximised. A tutor needs to listen to the needs of the student and work with them to find out where that student's strengths and weaknesses in the subject lie.
