What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I am quite the academic. I do truly like the act of studying itself, over realising it. I used to enjoy studying, even in my final years of school and college, when others would find it annoying. Math and English are my strongest suits. Both come naturally to me. I knew I had a flare for teaching when I started helping out my peers study for biology exams. I realised I loved doing it, they understood the subject so much better, interestingly, so did I. That is why I started tutoring my brother initially and started teaching his friends as well. As I won't become a teacher, I want to do this.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My style of studying is to take in the material, understand and organise it into parts in my head and then repeat it. This automatically helps breakdown the material into easily understandable chunks which is very beneficial in tutoring. I also am a planner by nature and able to device workable study plans and testing methods.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
To make them believe in the subject and themselves again. Help them feel like they are good at the subject and that it was only the method of studying or teaching that didn't work for them in the past, not the subject itself. Whether one likes a certain subject once or not truly decides a lot, including their career path. I want all students to have an honest shot at the subject the way they understand it better.
