What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Funny enough, I enjoy tutoring because it gives me the opportunity the learn more. They say that the best way to learn something is to teach it. I do enjoy preparing lessons and learn in a way that I can grasp the concept and pass it on to my students. I also do enjoy seeing my students learning and give them the confidence, in themselves, to overcome any challenges.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

When I took a course in "Reflective Teaching" back in university, it opened my eyes to teach mathematics in a different way. Teaching Mathematics is not just about teaching them to memorise formulas but to explain what each part means and helps my students to have a deeper understanding of the concept. And after each lesson, I will reflect on what I have taught and how I can do it better. I also have good interpersonal skills with a number of opportunities where I did public speaking online and offline and will be able to make friends easily.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

For me, the most important thing is to make the student appreciate learning. One of the most common question when learning Maths is "When will I ever need this in my life?", and upon reflection I realise that even though we may never need to use pythagoras theorm, all these mathematical concepts and exercises strengthens our brains, gives us confidence in our thinking, problem solving and it opens our minds; and all these are so important in our lives. I think that will be the most important thing a tutor can do for the student
