Learning biology is cumulative. Like learning mathematics or other science subjects - it's important to understand the basics before you can tackle complex concepts.
While most students have the right idea on how to approach studying biology, they also need a little push to achieve their goals. We've found that all it takes is the right kind of guidance at the right time.
The local Yokine biology tutors we work with are there to assist so that passing and excelling at biology doesn't seem like such a hurdle. What we look for is someone who can adjust to your child's needs, who can observe their study habits and guide them through the learning process. So what does that mean exactly?
For instance, most students know they should go over past exams and take notes. What students also sometimes do is fixate on individual questions too much and even try to memorise them. While they know what they should be doing, they might not know how to do it. This is why tutoring is invaluable.
All we need to get things started is to have a chat with you to figure out what your child needs. We organise one-on-one biology tutoring in Yokine, at your home. There are no extra fees, just a simple hourly rate.
And what if you don't like the tutor? No worries, it happens from time to time and we understand that! That's why the first lesson comes as a free trial.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Brooke is reasonably good at back-checking her work, though would be better served if she did it just a little bit more. While confidence may be an issue, she in no way seems to let it discourage her, which is a very good thing to see.
They are focussed on understanding the questions and meaning of the phrases in a given question. This is a very good attribute. They put in a lot and ask their teacher for clarification on things they do not understand. They participate in class work and it appears that they attend all their classes.
We have been working on Taylah's spelling and have been focussing on specific sounds in words. We are slowly building up to spelling full words and there is still a way to go. Taylah often does not know the concepts underlying maths however it is not clear to me if her teacher explains this or not.
I have been meaning to email but time got away. Hazel is loving Rabiba! She's just perfect for her. In fact when we discussed extending the time to two hours in a week or so Hazel agreed instantly. I was in shock. We are all very happy with her so far. She's very reliable and polite.
Carol has been great with Sarah and as you said it takes a few months to start seeing an impact., but Sarah understands her and relates well to Carol.
Nandi is fantastic and Izzy has developed a great relationship with her. She is a treasure.
