Physics is such a vast area, it's easy to get lost. While a lot of the content can be simply memorised, which many students still do, physics also requires higher-order thinking. Understanding the scientific method isn't a small task. All of these demands in a short period of time and with exams coming closer and closer, no wonder students shy away from science subjects. The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Harry has been improving noticeably over the last month. He is becoming more confident and talking aloud regularly. He is also learning to check his own work and question his answers to ensure that they are valid.
His attitude is still very good and he is studying even harder with the trials coming up. He attempts all questions in front of him, asks questions and communicates to me promptly about anything such as re-arranging lessons. His effort is very good. He fully applys himself every lesson, does his homework and really tries to understand the concepts. The only thing is that he should refrain from blacking out incorrect answers as this will make his notebook messy and he can no longer learn from them.
Alberto has always been able to complete his homework with sometimes not knowing how to answer one or two of the questions which then they are looked at during the tutorial session. He still needs to try to show all his working in his solutions. At this point, there are no specific problem areas and all improvement comes with time.
We have been very happy with Matthew and importantly, Xavier has worked well with Matthew and has found the tutoring beneficial.
Claire found Samir to be a great tutor - very knowledgeable, encouraging and helpful :-)
Tuition sessions are going on really well as my son has had considerable improvements in Maths with better grades ( jumped from C to A) and much better conceptual understanding of several difficult topics. He finds Ben a gentle and consistent tutor who has kept a wonderful rapport with him. They have also covered some topics in English which helped quite a bit. I would certainly recommend Benjamin as a very helpful and effective tutor for teenagers.
