English Tutor Berkeley Vale, NSW
I think the most important thing an english tutor can do for a student is to not only understand where the student is at within their academics, but in their personal life as well. A student's schooling can be very stressful and there is a lot of pressure from others. My role would be to make sure that I am not pressuring them, and that we reward…

My daughter is feeling confident with Samir and for sure he is teaching her to be in time because my daughter strangle with time management. Samir is always on time even though we just start with him. Thank you for giving me that assurance that my girl can do it. Cheers Nadine

Inside Blue BayTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 11 student Alex focused on coordinate geometry and trigonometry, tackling exam-style problems and graphing equations by hand.

In Year 8, Maya worked through probability concepts using real-world scenarios and explored equilibrium in chemistry with visual aids.

Meanwhile, Year 3 student Josh practised multiplication tables up to four and strengthened subtraction fundamentals through hands-on activities and games.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student in Physics was reminded to make answers neater and more succinct—messy work made revision harder when returning to old topics.

In Year 8 Maths, a tutor observed, "he skipped proof-reading," which led to small calculation errors slipping through unchecked.

For a Year 3 learner, confusion with basic timetables (2 x 6–9) and subtraction meant core maths skills weren't solidified; forgetting things unless written down added to this struggle.

A senior English student's answers were "way too extensive"—over-explaining clouded the main idea and left key points buried in long paragraphs.

Recent Achievements

In Blue Bay, Mohit has begun to ask questions when unsure, a significant shift from his earlier hesitation just weeks ago. During Year 11 chemistry, he also managed to tackle reaction problems independently after previously struggling to connect the steps.

Amari (Year 4) is now recalling both 2 and 3 times tables from memory without prompts and is picking up timetables much faster than before.

For Charlie in Year 3, reading aloud became less daunting after discovering that playing chess between stories helps him approach new texts with more enthusiasm. Last session, he happily read a whole Doctor Seuss book out loud.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as The Entrance Library & Council Services—or at your child's school (with permission), like The Entrance Public School.
