Chemistry can seem abstract, learning about elements and matter, how equilibrium occurs and how chemical systems react. No wonder students get discouraged.
All it takes for a student to go from a mild distaste for chemistry to understanding what is scribbled in the textbook is someone to point out what to avoid and where to put in that extra hour of revision. It's like with any problem situation in schooling and even in their personal life, students need to know about using effective strategies. Then all you need is persistence, staying on task until you reach your goal.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Zoe is very good at talking aloud, and going through the steps required of each question. This shows me the way she thinks, for which she likes to perform calculations in her head. She needs to work on putting pen to paper, where she can write out the steps from her head, to keep track of, which will also make it easier when checking her answer. This will help immensely in any exam, reducing the number of mistakes she will make. She gradually got better over our sessions.
Emily is becoming increasingly confident to tackle new problems, although she is still unsure of herself sometimes. Emily appears motivated to complete the set work in class, and further her understanding of the concepts. Emily appears to have completed and understood her class content. I am still pushing for proper formatting, but that will come with practice.
Really needs a lot of work on basics and retention of concepts Basics like multiplication tables, fractions, and tends to forget the formulas when under slightest of pressure (time bound class exams or when I tell her that I'm timing her while she's solving questions)
Barbara tells me that she is understanding and Erin is lovely. So far so good .
All going well for us at present thank you, Alice seems happy and likes Kelsey so we will keep at it.
We are extremely happy with the service so far. Jonah is very happy & comfortable with Celine & she is lovely. He is so much more confident already in regards to even attempting maths so we believe it is money well spent.
