Every student needs help sometimes, and often that help is needed in English. From basics like punctuation, spelling and grammar right up to narrative writing, proof reading and literary analysis. The Australian curriculum is thorough and there are various challenges that pop up for students over the years. At some point most students could use some help and an English tutor does just that - help! Ideally that help comes before the student has formed a negative cycle or fallen into a no-effort habit.
What we do is facilitate that help as a home service, we'll organise an in-home English tutor in Clarendon, or wherever it is convenient for you.
A local Clarendon English tutor will come to you at a time and day of your chosing and offer tutoring help in a manner tailored for your child's unique situation. The first lesson works as a trial so that if your child doesn't connect well with the tutor, you don't have to pay and we can organise someone else for you.
The terms of service are super simple too. No contracts or minimum hours or cancellation fees or anything like that. You get charged a simple hourly rate. That's it.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Hazel needs to learn to avoid lazy thinking and she needs to try harder to do note taking. She also needs to be more organised as she always loses the papers that I give to her. She is pretty good at talking aloud and self questioning. But she needs to be able to translate that from pen to paper and also back checking.
Peter is great to work with. He is sometimes hard on himself, but being wrong is part of the learning experience. Peter definitely puts in the time and effort, which is great to see. Peter takes clear notes, both in class and with myself. Something he should start to do is, when working through textbook questions, look at the answers, and correct his work in a different colour. If he doesn't understand something, it may be helpful to look at the worked examples in the text book.
Working on past gaps and almost all improved but just a couple more to go. Practice - to keep remembering everything. That is what homework is for. There is nothing to revise about Math. It all depends on how much questions you have practiced. And Jessica has been doing a good job and improved those past gaps. Not many problem areas left. Keep up the good work.

Deepti has been tutoring my son in Year 7. Deepti has developed an amazing rapport with my son and has inspired him emensely. His maths results for algebra have improved out of sight since having Deepti tutor him. Deepti is able to engage him and explain the rules and concepts and reinforce them through practice. Having been a teacher myself, I am very impressed with Deepti's skills and this has been reflected in my son's results. In addition his keenness in maths since having Deepti as his tutor is very impressive.
We are very pleased with the way Lucas is changing his approach to Math and Myunggwan has definitely had lots to do with it.
Pat is fantastic !!! Very respectful, conscientious young man and a very good teacher.
