The most important thing a tutor can do is adjust their teaching methods and style based on each student. Teaching with only one style and using the same methods for everyone won't work, and if you can't adjust, your sessions becomes very robotic and boring. I like to make sure I'm personalising my lessons for each individual student and I'm…

I believe one of the most important things a tutor can do is remove the fear around a subject. For many students, especially in maths and science, the volume of information can be overwhelming. Even when they understand a concept, they may struggle to apply it under exam conditions due to panic or poor time management. My goal is to help students…

- A tutor needs to be able to guide the students into considering the application of what they are learning and being able to provide them with the support that they need. A tutor can also provide students with emotional support as sometimes it is difficult for students to deal with the balance between life and studying. - Strong listening -…

I believe it's important to understand a student- because only then can you get through to them and start teaching. I'm very patient and 'chill': I find it easy to relate to students and have fun with teaching. I also am very quick to change my teaching style if I feel like a student isn't quite responding to…

for a student to understand a question is one thing, but a student to understand a whole concept and comfortably execute in a timed environment, is a tutored job done. in order to progress to this step, a tutor must always adapt their teaching methods to the way which a student prefers comfortably. maths problems can be solved in more then one…

Since this is a 1-on-1 tutorial, the tutor must give full attention to the student. Also to find ways to make sessions enjoyable but not to the point of sacrificing the time for teaching. And again to be patient so that the student can fully understand the topics being discussed. My best quality as a tutor would be my patience. I know a lot of…

Tutor should raise the confidence level in students by giving each and every child a chance to speak and answer in the class whether online or on-campus. The main motive of a tutor should be solving all the academic difficulties bothering students. I’ve tutored for almost 2 years, which made me proficient in both working and learning new things.…

Local Reviews

Bailey is just fantastic. Our son (in Year 10) looks forward to every session and his confidence has improved immensely. Bailey understands our son's weaknesses and with his intelligent teaching methods, works very hard to improve his maths skills. Our son finds it very easy to communicate with Bailey and his teaching methods are also easy for our son to understand. Bailey is always punctual and has even worked on holidays and weekends to help our son prepare for tests. We are so happy and blessed to have him tutor our son. Thank you Bailey & EzyMath Tutoring. Your excellent work and dedication is much appreciated.

Inside Devon MeadowsTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Jack focused on simplifying expressions using BODMAS/BIMDAS and practiced finding square roots with worked examples.

In Year 9, Mia revised Chapter 4 linear relations by drawing graphs and summarising key concepts in preparation for an upcoming test.

For Year 10, Ethan tackled probability exercises and completed a thorough chapter review to reinforce understanding of chance events and data interpretation.

Recent Challenges

In Year 10 Maths, one student often rushed through algebra problems, skipping steps and relying on shortcuts—she marked questions as correct without checking if the answers made sense, noted a tutor. This led to repeated errors and confusion when revisiting similar tasks.

Meanwhile, in Year 7 English, another avoided completing an assigned essay altogether, reflecting low motivation and growing uncertainty about their abilities.

In senior maths (Year 11), incomplete written working—especially during revision for tests—meant mistakes went unnoticed until too late. The result: lost marks and increased frustration during feedback sessions.

Recent Achievements

One Devon Meadows tutor recently saw a big shift with a Year 11 student who, after typically relying on prompts to spot errors, independently identified and corrected mistakes in her maths test revision—something she'd hesitated to do before.

In a high school English session, another student produced an essay that was noticeably more complex than previous work, using more advanced structure and language without needing as much guidance.

Meanwhile, a primary student started using textbook examples by herself when tackling new graphing methods—a leap from earlier sessions where she needed step-by-step support.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Cranbourne Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Devon Meadows Primary School.
