Year 11 and 12 Chemistry can be intimidating. Students need to learn heaps of content, be able to recognize reactions and analyse chemical systems. The number of concepts students need to master is overwhelming, and the workload only adds up as they move up the curriculum. If your child doesn't hit the ground running, if they don't develop adequate study habits it's easy to get swept away by the sheer number of demands.

If your child doesn't hit the ground running, if they don't develop adequate study habits it's easy to get swept away by the sheer number of demands.
Tutors we work with know that. They've been there. Being approached by a mentor rather than a teacher makes it easier for students to develop an appreciation for chemistry. That's what it comes down to - someone making sure your child doesn't give up.
For some students it's just passing a test, for others it's getting through QCE with flying colours, maybe even preparing for a career in STEM. Whatever the goal, we are there to support your child through it all.
So what's the next step?
Give us a call and we will organise a chemistry tutor in Mount Ommaney to come to your home for one-on-one tutoring, at a time that works for you and your child.
We allocate local Mount Ommaney chemistry tutors so scheduling is never an issue. Changed your mind or need to postpone the lesson? No worries, there are no cancellation costs.
On top of that, the first lesson is a trial so if you don't like the tutor we'll find someone else who is better suited.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Molly has started to tackle some higher level mathematics skills, such as strong formatting skills, recognising transfer skills, and demonstrating understanding of tougher concepts. This is in addition to making progress on timestables and division facts, which help lay a stronger foundation to focus on more complex mathematics questions.
Tatum hasn't had the greatest levels of focus recently which has made tutoring difficult, although I always endeavour to encourage her to participate and actively involve her by asking what she would like to work on and if there are any problems from class that we can go over together.
The biggest issue that I've identified is an over-reliance on formulas without really understanding the underlying concepts. This is quite a common issue and often depends on the teacher, so as such my focus right now is not so much on doing questions or completing course work but rather in trying to understand in a more general sense what the content is about.

I have found your entire service from the first contact professional and friendly and will recommend both your organisation and Andrew to anyone who requires a maths tutor. . As I said earlier, I found Andrew both diligant and effective in the few sessions we were able to fit in. Jesse's main comment was that 'He makes everything so easy to understand' which is really what tutoring is about.
Thank you for your email. Andrew has settled nicely with Phal and is engaged and enjoying the experience. Phal has spent the last few weeks getting a hold on where Andrew is up to with his maths and I am sure it will continue to be rewarding for him.
Darius is fantastic. He is extremely dedicated and well mannered. He often stays more than 1 hour to make sure Harry understands everything they have covered. Harry has become enthusiastic toward maths and he can already see improvements. Thank you so much for referring Darius, he has been a life saver!
