What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I have a deep passion for maths, physics and science, and I would love to share that passion with other people, especially through tutoring. Though I may not have any formal tutoring experience, I have spent a couple of years as an assistant taekwondo instructor. It is incredibly rewarding when I am able to teach a student a new idea or skills and see them do what they thought they couldn't. I also enjoy seeing students build their confidence and self belief, this brings me joy, seeing that I am creating a positive impact on my students.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe my strengths are patience and adaptability. Oftentimes when teaching students in taekwondo, they will initially struggle with new moves or concepts. Having patience gives student's space to be able to make mistakes and though it might be demoralising for them, I match their pace and guide them one on one to help them to overcome these mistakes. I'm also highly adaptable. As all students are different, so are their learning needs. I am able to adjust my teaching style to suit their needs, which along with patience helps them to learn in an encouraging environment.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I consider the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to help them build their own confidence and self belief. I think a student's biggest hurdle would be doubting themselves and I believe that it is the job of the tutor to help them overcome this self doubt and help build up their academic confidence and show them that though learning new concepts and ideas may be difficult but not impossible, and guide them through that process. In doing so, we can teach student's to adopt critical thinking skills as well as develop their on independence in being able to apply these skills.

About Jeremy
Strong STEM Background for Clear, Logical Explanations
Jeremy is studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Aerospace Engineering, which means he works with maths and problem-solving every day. He is used to breaking down complex ideas into smaller, logical steps, making him well suited to helping school students build confidence in maths. Having achieved an ATAR in the mid-90s, he understands what it takes to perform well across subjects and can share practical strategies for exam preparation, time management and tackling tricky questions calmly.
Experienced Youth Instructor with One-on-One Coaching Skills
As an assistant taekwondo instructor, Jeremy regularly teaches children and teenagers in group and one-on-one settings. He adapts his teaching style for different learning abilities, keeps sessions structured yet engaging, and knows how to encourage quieter or less confident students. He has supervised practice sessions to keep students safe while still challenging them, and has been recognised with an instructor award, showing that families and senior coaches trust his ability to mentor young people effectively.
Patient Communicator Who Builds Student Confidence
Through both tutoring-style instruction in taekwondo and extensive customer-facing experience, Jeremy has become a calm, patient communicator who listens carefully before explaining. He is used to answering many different types of questions clearly, whether in person or over the phone, and can adjust his explanations until they make sense to the student. With a valid Working With Children Check and experience leading children at holiday camps, this tutor brings a reassuring mix of responsibility, friendliness and structure to every lesson.
