What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐Ÿ˜

What I enjoy most about tutoring is the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a student's academic journey. I love seeing the moment when a concept finally clicks for a student it's incredibly rewarding to know I've helped build their confidence and understanding. I also enjoy adapting my teaching style to suit each student's needs, making learning more accessible and engaging. Tutoring allows me to share knowledge in a way that empowers students and helps them reach their potential, which is something I find genuinely fulfilling.

My Strengths as Tutor ๐Ÿ’ช

I believe my key strengths as a tutor are patience, clear communication, and adaptability. Im able to break down complex concepts into simpler, more manageable parts, which helps students build a solid foundation of understanding. I'm also a good listener this helps me identify where a student is struggling and adjust my teaching approach to suit their learning style. Additionally, I'm reliable and well-organised, which ensures consistency and structure in each session. I genuinely care about my students' progress and always aim to create a supportive, encouraging learning environment.

Most important things I can do for a student ๐Ÿ…

I believe the most important things a tutor can do for a student are to build their confidence, support their individual learning needs, and foster a genuine understanding of the subject. It's not just about helping them get the right answers, but about teaching them how to approach problems, think critically, and develop independent learning skills. A good tutor also creates a safe, respectful space where the student feels comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, which is essential for growth. Ultimately, a tutor should empower the student to become more self-reliant and motivated in

About riana

Who I am and what I do

I am currently completing a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Commerce at Macquarie University, where I am achieving a Distinction WAM. My studies have strengthened my analytical thinking, commercial awareness, and ability to approach complex issues with clarity and structure. I value precision, disciplined work, and thoughtful decision-makingโ€”qualities that underpin both legal reasoning and sound business judgment. Outside of my academic commitments, I prioritise balance and well-being. I enjoy hiking and bike riding as a way to reset and gain perspective, and I play tennis for both the strategic and social aspects of the game. Powerlifting is a significant personal pursuit of mine; it has taught me consistency, resilience, and the importance of incremental progress. Equally, I make a conscious effort to enjoy the present moment, an approach that keeps me grounded and focused. Overall, I am motivated, resilient, and forward-thinking, with a strong work ethic and a genuine enthusiasm for growth: academically, professionally, and personally.

Experienced Student Leader Who Connects with Young People

Throughout school, Riana held senior leadership roles, including Year 12 leadership and organising events such as Gala Days and school carnivals. She has mentored younger students, helped coordinate student activities and supported communication between students and staff. This experience means she knows how to encourage shy or anxious learners, keep groups on track and make sessions feel safe and organised. Parents can expect a tutor who is responsible, mature, and able to relate well to children and teenagers.

Creative, Encouraging Approach to Learning

Riana brings a mix of analytical and creative strengths to her tutoring. Her love of drawing and drama helps her explain ideas visually and through stories, which is especially helpful for visual and younger learners. She has been involved in poetry competitions, reading challenges and drama productions, giving her plenty of ways to make English more engaging. Having overcome personal challenges herself, this tutor is patient and empathetic, using positive reinforcement and practical strategies to build confidence as well as marks.
