I have experience teaching students from pre-k through to Extension 2 Mathematics. As a recent graduate, the material is still fresh in my mind, which allows me to explain concepts clearly and in ways that align closely with current curricula. Introduction / Who I Am
Hello, my name is Marqel Jaryce Lozarita. I am passionate about mathematics and technology, which is why I am currently studying Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). Although I am pursuing an engineering degree, I am also deeply committed to education and developing studentsβ understanding of maths. I have over five years of tutoring experience, having worked at Kumon as well as providing private tutoring. My teaching experience spans from early primary mathematics through to Extension 2 Mathematics.
Experience / What I Do
I have five years of tutoring experience, including almost three years working at Kumon, where I have supported a wide range of students from pre-K to Year 12. This includes working with gifted students as well as students with learning difficulties, which has strengthened my ability to adapt my teaching style to different learning needs. In addition, I have two years of private tutoring experience, teaching students from Year 10 to Year 11. These experiences have helped me develop the ability to effectively teach students of all abilities and tailor my approach to suit their individual strengths and challenges.

I have worked with the full spectrum of students, meaning I am well prepared to support learners of all abilities and learning styles. Having studied mathematics from mainstream levels through to Extension 2, I understand the challenges students face at both average and advanced levels, as well as what is required to succeed at each stage. By choosing me as a tutor, students will develop a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts rather than simply learning procedural steps, leading to greater confidence and clarity in their problem-solving. My goal is to make maths feel intuitive and approachable, and I aim to help students become fluent in mathematical thinking.
