What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I simply enjoy the feeling of working through problems and concepts with students, and the feeling of when everything suddenly clicks and the student is able to not only answer that particular question, but also all questions like it.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Breaking down concepts in a way that allows students to intuitively understand problems and ideas. I do this by first understanding what type of learner the student is, and adapt my tutoring style around it (for example if the student is primarily a visual learner, then I will use diagrams and mind maps when explaining concepts).
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe explaining a concept in such a way that the student understands it intuitively and can thus use that understanding to solve different problems, rather than simply rote-learning a series of facts, is an incredibly important part of being a tutor. The tutor should be adding to a student's toolkit such that they can solve a variety of problems, rather than simply memorizing the method to answer a single tough problem but not being able to solve similar problems. In pressure situations such as exams this is incredibly useful.
