What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy tutoring because I love to be engaged with subjects that I love and pursue in my spare time. I have a genuine passion for English, literature and writing. I enjoy the challenge of using academic language and conventions to answer questions or prompts and explain complex concepts. I find that my love of language and literacy has had a hugely positive impact on my skills and abilities in other areas of life and improved my sense of confidence. I love being able to pass this on to younger students, especially those who may feel less confident in their abilities.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe that the most important thing a tutor can do is to encourage a love of learning by helping the student see that they are already intelligent and have the capabilities to excel in their coursework if they apply themselves. Instilling a sense of confidence in students and making the learning process enjoyable is an enormous part of their ability to retain what they are learning and do well in their exams. This can be done by making the subjects understandable. Teaching the student techniques and analysis they can use on their own will prevent them from becoming overwhelmed.
