We will continue to work on doing longer and more complex equations and expansions. I will also start introducing Olivia to other, Year 8 style questions and concepts.

We will work on applying these skills to more complicated algebraic word problems. In future weeks we'll begin looking at some harder, year 8 content to prepare Olivia for next year.

Grace is very good at applying BIDMAS to complex problems, and using mental strategies to work out simple addition, multiplication, division and subtraction. She also picked up the concept of 'substitution' very quickly from the year 7 textbook.
Grace was not as confident with the algebra questions that we went through from the year 7 content. This is however understandable, and we continue to develop the basic skills needed to master these questions.
