Tutors should also be patient and respectful ensuring each student is comfortable and able to express their problems and difficulty in school. I’m very kindhearted, patient and knowledgeable which…

The most important things a tutor can do for a student is build confidence and spark an interest for learning. I would do this by encouraging a growth mindset and applying school concepts to the real world to show students that school learning does relate to the real world and doesn't just remain in the books. This is something I personally found…

The most important thing I believe a tutor can do for a student is to inspire them and instil an appreciation for the subject they are teaching. Beyond just explaining different concepts and providing feedback, a tutor should make an effort to emphasize the value of the skills and knowledge they are teaching to the students. I think it's very…

The most important thing a tutor can do is support their student and give them the patience and understanding that learning is a difficult process and can take a long time. It is crucial to respect students and never put them down for their ability as everyone has the potential to learn many things at their own pace and in their own ways. I have a…

A tutor can do many things for their students. They should be able to motivate, support, inspire and teach from the heart. In other words, they should be role models to their students; someone students look upto that inspires them to achieve their full potential. An exceptional tutor would ensure their students have an in-depth understanding of concepts by altering their teaching methods to best complement the student's learning capacity and to the material being taught. Challenge · Reassure · Consolidate A tutor's most integral role is to harness the power of these 3 pillars of tutoring to establish a nurturing learning environment where students are encouraged to think innovatively and step out of their comfort zone. Inside Warwick FarmTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Oliver practised converting decimals to fractions and percentages, and tackled basic algebraic problems from schoolwork.

In Year 8, Aryan explored foundational concepts in electricity using worksheets and reviewed electronics basics for science.

Meanwhile, Madison in Year 10 worked on mean, median, and standard deviation calculations in maths before shifting focus to analysing poems and developing writing skills for English assignments.

Recent Challenges

In Year 11 mathematics, skipping written steps in complex algebra led to repeated sign errors; as a tutor noted, "writing out all his working helps him slow down and see the correct solution."

In a Year 8 geometry lesson, confusion arose when identifying corresponding angles—insufficient note-taking habits made it hard to recall proofs.

For a primary student, reluctance to complete maths homework meant gaps in basic division persisted week-to-week.

One Year 10 student lost momentum during multi-step problems, with focus drifting after initial confidence faded. This left questions half-finished and core concepts unrevised by the end of each session.

Recent Achievements

A Warwick Farm tutor noticed one high school student who previously hesitated to ask for help now regularly checks his understanding by asking clarifying questions during electronics lessons, showing much more active engagement than before.

Another older student struggled with quadratic equations earlier in the term but has started using a systematic approach to convert worded problems into algebraic equations and can now solve them independently, even remembering to include units in his answers.

In a recent primary session, Maximus, who often mixed up number sequences, was able to recognise the correct order of single-digit numbers on his own without extra prompting.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Liverpool City Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Warwick Farm Public School.
