Why would you ever need to know about combustion, corrosion, and electrochemical processes? Most students wonder about that too, especially if they don't plan on going into science.
Chemistry can seem abstract, learning about elements and matter, how equilibrium occurs and how chemical systems react. No wonder students get discouraged.
All it takes for a student to go from a mild distaste for chemistry to understanding what is scribbled in the textbook is someone to point out what to avoid and where to put in that extra hour of revision. It's like with any problem situation in schooling and even in their personal life, students need to know about using effective strategies. Then all you need is persistence, staying on task until you reach your goal.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
1-TA : Olivia needs more commitment to talking aloud, as she currently inconsistent in adopting it. 2- B/C: this is another strategy that requires more attention from her. 3- P/P: also she needs to adopt 'Pen to Paper' consistently. 4-Self-Questioning: below-average 5- Note Taking: rarely takes notes. 6- Seeking Understanding: very good attitude in this strategy. 7- Confidence: needs more improvement. 8- Avoid lazy thinking: doing well. 9- Avoid Rule Dependency: needs more improvement
She has positive attitudes during each tuition and demonstrated confidence. She completes the assigned homework for each lesson, and is keen to learn and build her skills. Her note taking has improved, and she seeks for help if she does not understand.
We will keep working through our questions back checking, to try and get Seb to do it unconsciously. The occasional lazy thinking and guessing when a question is wrong. Seb tends to start guessing when he doesn't get a question straight away. THis can be detrimental, but we are working through this and getting used to backchecking to avoid lazy thinking.
Tom has been absolutely fantastic very supportive and professional at all times and will definitely recommend EzyMaths in the future.
We had Claire coming in to give tutoring to our daughter last Friday. It went very well and we were very happy with the result.
We are very happy with Sean, the kids have responded very well to him and even look forward to the sessions!
