There's a method to learning science and most students struggle to figure it out for themselves. It's hard staying motivated if you can't see the bigger picture and in most cases, students don't get that kind of support at school.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Seb has over this month improved his problem solving skills and we have been working on avoiding rule dependency and training logical and discerned thinking when approaching problems. He still hasn't fully understood that it's okay to be wrong, but we are working on that and encouraging putting his thoughts out there so he can continue to learn and grow through this.
Seems to be quite keen on maths, but will have to make sure work is kept up to date. In-class work seems to be done fine and on time. More effort needs to be placed on effort outside of class (eg Khan Academy notes for problem areas) Student is very willing to complete any work assigned.
Needs to get more efficient during exams. Takes too much time answering hard questions instead of skipping them first to answer easier ones. On some occasions, Jess has showed that he has a hard time remembering what I've told him. Like when I teach him a method of solving one item and when I ask him to solve a very similar problem, he totally forgets how to do it.
Stephanie our tutor for Loki has been great. Loki is enjoying the sessions and in the short time we have seen him becoming more confident. Truly appreciate your assistance in getting Loki up to speed. Rest assured if I hear of anyone looking for a tutor I will send them your way!
I am very happy with my son's tutor so far. We have only had 2 sessions & already my son is doing his homework after school everyday, without being asked. He also is impressing his tutor with his knowledge. They both relate with each other & I can see good things for my son's future.
I think Molly is really getting a lot out of the sessions and a lot of support. I think that she is also a good role model for Molly.
