The best thing teachers can do if their students are struggling is approach their learning in a personalized way, really getting to know their habits and specific challenges they face. There's nothing like having that one person who knows your study habits inside out, especially when it comes to science. Unfortunately, in classrooms, that's not always possible.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Gabrielle has actively contributed to each tutorial session, she has positively engaged in answering questions and attempted questions by herself. Gabrielle has utilised some great learning strategies, such as setting out her work in a nice format, asking questions when needed, and correcting her mistakes. Gabrielle speaks aloud and engages with the work. She is going at a steady pace in terms of school coursework, keeping on track and asking for areas needing assistance.
Eliza needs to focus on keeping her books neat (particularly her science book!) As having a messy book makes revising and doing homework harder and more daunting at times. I'm not sure if she does this but coming up to a test doing a little bit of revision every night will help, especially when it comes to remembering definitions.
She is struggling with perimeter and area a little bit but I am working on it and I am sure she will get better at it as she is very hardworking. She sometimes makes minor silly mistakes with multiplications which I want her to avoid but other than that, she is doing really well.
We are happy with Maree, she is a hands on tutor which seems to be working well with my daughter.
It's all going very well. Billy really likes her and said she is clarifying a lot for him. I'm conscious that they are rushing through things at school so have told Mithra to take her time and not move on to new areas until she is satisfied he grasps it.
Monique is very happy. In just two lessons, she has found a huge difference. I commend Katy as Monique finds her very knowledgeable, friendly and easy going. I am pleased as I too can see the huge difference in Monique's confidence. Thank you for recommending Katy, she is a marvel.
