Year 11 and 12 Chemistry can be intimidating. Students need to learn heaps of content, be able to recognize reactions and analyse chemical systems. The number of concepts students need to master is overwhelming, and the workload only adds up as they move up the curriculum. If your child doesn't hit the ground running, if they don't develop adequate study habits it's easy to get swept away by the sheer number of demands.

Tutors we work with know that. They've been there. Being approached by a mentor rather than a teacher makes it easier for students to develop an appreciation for chemistry. That's what it comes down to - someone making sure your child doesn't give up.
For some students it's just passing a test, for others it's getting through WACE with flying colours, maybe even preparing for a career in STEM. Whatever the goal, we are there to support your child through it all.
So what's the next step?
Give us a call and we will organise a chemistry tutor in Naval Base to come to your home for one-on-one tutoring, at a time that works for you and your child.
We allocate local Naval Base chemistry tutors so scheduling is never an issue. Changed your mind or need to postpone the lesson? No worries, there are no cancellation costs.
On top of that, the first lesson is a trial so if you don't like the tutor we'll find someone else who is better suited.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
I have taught Saxon for three lessons. As at 13 August 2018 we have completed three major topics, Pythagoras theorem, angles, triangles and quadrilaterals and ratios and rates. These three topics were specified by Janet Turner as being essential for the preparation of an upcoming class test. Tutoring lessons consisted of the tutor modeling problem solving and talking aloud the thinking process so that the student can understand the steps required for arriving at the solutions.
Positive attitude. I can now see some desire to learn. I want to see more of his effort in doing the assigned work. The questions I give him should only take around 20 minutes. Oliver has become more attentive and participates in the tutoring session well. I gave him a quiz on the last tutoring to practice writing answers.
There are a lot of gaps to fill in. Revisions on the school holidays will be good to catch up. There are quite a few topics which needs a complete full revision. Tutoring is a 2 way process. On my end, I am doing my best in explaining the topics and make sure she understands, however on her end, she will have to keep up and do all those practice questions to stay on the (80% score) side.

Lia is really enthusiastic about the help that Jennifer is providing which as a mother is very exciting and comforting.
Georgia is happy with Kelvin. She is very shy and so it is great that she feels comfortable with him.
Everything is going well with Dexter. Jordana gets on really well with her, and finds Dexter explains things very clearly, and has been a great help already with her understanding of Maths.
