Give them confidence! Students often require a chemistry tutor not only because they cannot cope with content, but because they have a lack of confidence in the subject. I have a lot of experience in working with students, allowing me to understand them better and therefore be able to effectively help and teach them. I am also continually…

I think continuous support is the most important thing that a chemistry tutor can do for a student. Without having continuous support, the student cannot rely on their tutor to help them when they are having difficulty. I think my strengths are that I am patient, I've had great exposure to younger students. I also have an open mind which allows me…

Being a chemistry tutor, we have to learn to understand a students. No one is similar with each other so we have to understand students at first and learn their learning strategy. I can make the student not only competent, but also comfortable and confident in a certain topic. I understand how stressful hard subjects can be. I want to take away the feeling of fear when students enter a class they think they're not good in. Another thing is teaching a student to be an autodidact. I was fortunate enough to know this tactic…

The most important thing is to create a environment in which the student is not afraid to ask questions and in which every question is considered important. A tutor has to respect that everyone learns differently and has to be prepared to re-explain things a few times, maybe in different ways for the student. I am a good listener, I believe I…

Identifying the individual's strengths and weaknesses. Local Reviews

Was a little hesitant to use any online tutoring service but was pleasantly surprised at the well organised team working at EzyMath. The chosen tutor Is optimistic, reassuring and understanding while also managed to knock the problematic subject on the head. That is after two lessons. My child who has been reluctant to a tutor is very happy too. Payments are so easy using PayPal. Give them a try!

Inside NorandaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Daniel worked on adding and subtracting negative integers as well as reviewing fraction addition using diagrams for clarity.

In Year 9, Olivia tackled solving simultaneous equations through substitution and explored graphical translations of quadratic equations.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Jack focused on applying the sine and cosine rules to find unknown sides and angles in non-right-angled triangles, and revisited compound interest calculations in preparation for assessments.

Recent Challenges

A Year 9 student missed the introduction to quadratics at school and needed to learn the basics independently; as noted, "she will need to attempt practice questions and put some of the theory onto her exam notes," highlighting a reliance on last-minute revision rather than steady integration.

In Year 11, exam marks were affected not by lack of ability but by exam technique—she could solve difficult questions in tutoring that she'd struggled with under timed conditions.

Meanwhile, a Year 7 learner repeatedly forgot rules for subtracting negative numbers, leading to confusion during algebraic tasks.

Each scenario left progress feeling uneven: understanding would resurface mid-session, but rarely stuck without targeted recall or better planning.

Recent Achievements

One Noranda tutor noticed a Year 10 student who had previously struggled with rearranging formulas now solving simple interest questions almost perfectly, even tackling the rearrangement step that used to be a stumbling block.

In another session, a Year 8 student who once hesitated with negative numbers demonstrated clear improvement by adding them accurately during practice problems.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 student moved beyond using diagrams for division and started spotting patterns in remainders herself—by the end of the lesson, she was working out answers without needing visual aids.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Morley Public Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Camboon Primary School.
