What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

One of the most rewarding aspects of tutoring is watching children's confidence and self esteem increase and develop as they begin to understand and excel in areas they once thought were too hard or difficult.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

I believe my strengths are my ability to adapt and be flexible depending on the situation. As a tutor sometimes your planned lesson is too hard or too simple and you have to be on your feet to make suitable changes to it when necessary. Additionally as a part of my core values it's imperative that I have high expectations for all my students which establishes a holistic approach to their education leading to better academic achievement and overall behaviour and motivation.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

I believe the most important things tutors can do for students is to guide by teaching how rather than what. Additionally the most important thing a tutor can do is create a positive relationship with their students and a safe and welcoming environment that allows for mistakes. As every student does not learn the same way It's imperative that tutors have multiple learning styles and techniques to best support the students they teach.

About Isabella

Emerging Primary Teacher with Real-World Maths Skills

Isabella is currently studying a Bachelor of Education (Primary), giving her a strong grounding in how children learn, especially in English and maths. Her background in customer-facing roles means she uses clear, friendly communication and can explain ideas in simple, practical ways. She has developed strong numeracy skills through regular cash handling and managing financial documents, which she turns into real-life maths examples that make concepts like addition, subtraction and percentages easier for students to grasp.

Safe, Calm and Child-Focused Learning Environment

This tutor holds multiple first aid certifications, including specialised training for educational and care settings, as well as a valid Working With Children Check. Parents can feel confident that safety and wellbeing are a priority in every session. Isabella’s experience supporting others in busy environments has taught her to stay calm, organised and patient, so students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building confidence at their own pace.

Engaging Sessions That Build Confidence and Independence

Isabella brings strong organisation and time-management skills to her tutoring, helping students break tasks into manageable steps and plan their study effectively. She is used to tailoring her communication to different people, having built rapport with a wide range of customers by adjusting how she explained products and options. In lessons, she uses this same skill to adjust explanations, try alternative examples and encourage students to talk through their thinking, building both understanding and independence in their schoolwork.
