Harrison continues to apply the learning strategies introduced, however he needs to focus more on back checking as he has a habit of making mistakes when his begins to lose focus. 'Talking Aloud', 'note taking', 'seeking understanding' and 'pen to paper' are all being implemented well by Harrison, following the introduction of the key problem solving steps.
Bethany's attitude to her maths isn't as excited as her brother, but she understand what is required of her and gets it done to a high standard. Bethany often loses concentration during our sessions, but she rarely misses any important points or any opportunity to learn. -
Mia's gaps in maths are shrinking, and she now understands most of the concepts present in the Stage 2 syllabus. Mia mostly understands division now, but still needs a lot of help with long division. Mia also needs more practice doing higher number timetables, which we will also work on leading up to and during the school year, N/A
Morgan has responded very well already with Hazel. She said her explanations of problems has made her maths much more easier. We are very happy with Hazel.
Despite a few minor glitches for our first few sessions with James arriving late (all sorted now I think), we've been VERY happy with the way he's working with Emily. She lacks confidence in maths, and I think James's gentle and patient approach is really helping.
