No wonder most students get overwhelmed and start memorising instead of understanding the concepts. Or worse, they just give up.
We've heard it time and time again, you’ve probably heard it too. Some students connect everything as they go, but some are just stuck. This kind of attitude can lead to poor grades, but it can also lead to a crack in your child's self-esteem.
So what can you do?
The truth is - everyone struggles. Some might get there easier or quicker, but everyone struggles at some point. We know that and the Macquarie Links chemistry tutors we work with know that, too.
All it takes is a bit of guidance by someone who's been there before. Someone who can foster the right attitude and study habits, but most importantly, someone who clicks with your child - a tutor who truly cares about your child's needs and goals.
That's what we do.
We find tutors and organise one-on-one chemistry tutoring in Macquarie Links, at your home or any other place that works for you.
There are no extra fees, just a simple hourly rate. You don't like the tutor? No need to worry, the first lesson comes as a free trial and we find you a better match. Simple as that.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
We have been over the different learning strategies during our tutoring sessions. Most of them come quite natural. The one that still needs work is back checking as Gabrielle still tends to make errors in her homework that she does not make when we do exercises together. Gabrielle is very good at pen to paper. Her notes are very neat and complete. Her confidence is slowly building, and will keep growing as she keeps practicing.
Frank is keen to learn and is attentive. Further study is required post tutoring lessons to develop what was taught. Frank is sound in his approach where he is a positive thinker. He shows that he is committed to excel. Post tutoring study routines need to be developed as part of a continuous improvement. As above, Frank is committed to excel and learn. However the student tends to undertake shortcuts in his execution to answer questions. This has been identified and will be corrected as lessons progress.
Each lesson we find gaps in his knowledge however we address them as they come along and continue to work on them to improve his confidence To help improve his marks, Ray needs remember to go over his class work in his own time and make sure he fully understands it before moving on. This will then make it easier to understand the harder parts of each topic.
Jack is really happy with Jereme, we don't expect miracles straight away but just having the support is comforting for him. Time will tell.
Thanks for following up. The tutoring is going well with Patrick. He is a nice polite young man, and professional, and Nick has responded positively. I can already see a bit more confidence with his Maths work.
Thanks for your email. I am happy to let you know that Jessica has settled down very well with Patrick. She is actually enjoying her tutoring sessions and has already felt a bit stronger and more confident. I have taken some time to listen to them and they get on well and Jessica does not feel uncomfortable to ask questions. Both Jess and I are so far, very happy with Patrick's tutoring.
